CIRCO GLOBO
teaching artist, 2019-2022
@multiple institutions throughout Albuquerque

Circo Latino is a Circus Arts Institute for youth in Albuquerque, NM. Since 2008, the program has built respectful community, safely developed skills, created performance, and inspired WONDER and MAGIC. Each year, the program's culmination is marked by a student-led, full-length live performance of song, aerial acrobatics, stilt walking, juggling and clowning. I worked with the students to create simple cardboard props used throughout the production.

 Circo Latino's response to Covid was to produce an all-online circus camp. These illustrations were part of the program.

As the pandemic expanded and Circo Latino's 2020 season was interrupted, artists worked to find creative ways to adapt to life under a virus unchecked by the American government. One of our projects was to create art celebrating the Teaching Artists that young Circo students loved so much. In response to that idea, I created a set of paper doll "Jumping Jacks" that Circo students could print and assemble at home.
